How we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

Introduction

Dentisapp ("we," "our," or "us") is a dental clinic management application designed for dental professionals in Algeria. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our mobile application ("App").

Information We Collect

Data Entered by Clinic Staff

Dentisapp is a professional tool used by dental clinics. The data entered into the app is provided directly by clinic staff and may include:

  • Patient Information: Names, phone numbers, dates of birth, medical history, dental charts, and treatment records.
  • Appointment Data: Scheduling details, appointment history, and queue management information.
  • Financial Data: Transaction records, payment information, estimates, and expense tracking.
  • Staff Information: Doctor profiles, employee (HR) records, and user account credentials.
  • Medical Data: Prescriptions, lab work orders, dental chart annotations, and treatment plans.
  • Inventory Data: Dental supplies and product inventory records.
  • SMS Records: Message templates and communication logs for patient reminders.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Error & Crash Reports: We use Sentry to collect crash reports and diagnostic data to improve app stability. This may include device type, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash.
  • App Version Information: We collect basic app version data for update and compatibility purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the dental clinic management service.
  • Sync data between devices used by the clinic via our backend service (PocketBase).
  • Store data locally on your device for offline access (via Hive local storage).
  • Send appointment reminders and notifications to patients (via SMS, if configured by the clinic).
  • Generate reports, statistics, and PDF documents (prescriptions, estimates, invoices).
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues through crash reporting.

Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Data is stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage (Hive) for offline access.
  • Remote Storage: Data is synced to a secure PocketBase server for backup and multi-device access. Each clinic's data is isolated to their tenant account.
  • Data in Transit: All communications between the app and the server are encrypted using HTTPS.

Permissions

The app requests the following Android permissions:

  • Internet: Required to sync data with the server and send SMS messages.
  • Notifications: Used to send local appointment reminders and alerts.
  • Vibrate: Used for notification feedback.

The app does not request access to your camera, location, contacts, or microphone.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to third parties. Data may be shared only in the following circumstances:

  • Crash Reporting: Anonymous crash and diagnostic data is shared with Sentry (sentry.io) for app stability improvement.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

Data Retention

Clinic data is retained for as long as the clinic maintains an active account. Clinics can request data deletion by contacting us directly. Local data can be cleared by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

Dentisapp is a professional tool for dental practitioners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Patient records of minors are entered and managed by authorized clinic staff.

As a user, you have the right to:

  • Access the data stored in your clinic account.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your clinic's data.
  • Export your data (via PDF reports and printable documents).
